Spring is in full swing here and we are enjoying all the bits and pieces of it we can. Flowers are blooming, gardens are growing and so are our chicks. I finally got a chance to get out this evening with the camera. Ethan missed out though, as the camera had run out of batteries by the time he woke up from a late nap.
I was watering the garden camera in hand when they randomly lined up to watch...a rare moment, when all are in the same place at the same time and standing still.
We let the back field grass grow and them mowed trails thru it. I enjoy it tall and swaying in the breeze.
I've also been enjoying these flowering Hawthorne trees, as there are quite a few around the property in different shades of white and pink!
And our chicks, this is Hetti and Penny two of the original 5.
And these are the 6 new comers.
Salty
(she'll be white with a bit of gray)
Lacey
Seuss
(this breed is reputed to lay green colored eggs, (shells))
Sukey
Ebony
And Mango...
yes we had fun naming them! :)

This is my goofy girly's camera face these days.

So beautiful!
The foliage has thickened above the brier fort that cousin Katie helped make. And with a bit more trimming it is ready for some cool summer fun.
We have an abundance of these caterpillars scattered throughout the field right now. I have not been able to identify what they are, though we've got quite a collection of them. :)
Very like a wooly bear except for the white fuzz.
We discovered a couple of scotch broom plants down in the lower field, in full bloom as well.
Hunting down more caterpillars...
The collection has grown.
Aaron finds the grass seeds fascinating... and loves to strip off handfuls of them.
