Winter days!

We got a week of 20 degree and lower temperatures around here which added a bit of variety to life. Almost every morning started off with this awesome sunrise over Mt. Hood; it goes great with a hot cup of coffee!  This is from the kitchen window, my inspiration for the day!

The temperatures were soo cold most the week that we spent the days indoors trying to keep warm. But on the last day of the cold snap we got this dusting of snow to go along with the ice scapes the boys had been enjoying.

Jul's got the first run down the snowy slide.

She also made sure the chickens got their exercise.

 Phi scrounged around,

and found enough snow to make a small snowman!

And it was cold enough that even tho' the grass was not covered we were able to sled down the back hill!

 Awaiting our turn...

Yay! we made it to the bottom!

We did afternoon school this day, as the snow melted outdoors and we quit worrying about keeping the faucets dripping and the windows covered and the heaters on..

Bubby, our little chocolate faced monkey. He's very proud of the fact that he can stand up himself... as long as he hangs on to something!
And a serenade by the Three Musketeers to end the day.

    1. Yes, I started a new one once we moved, I had not used the other one in soo long I couldn't remember how to get in. Glad you found us again. Have enjoyed your blog, especially the weekly memory verse! That has helped us out many times. :) Enjoying seeing bits of your "country experience" too. ~ SJo

  2. What fun! We finally got a bit of snow last Friday. The kids went out to play in it and I had to leave for a Dr. appt. so didn't get any documentations of it. :)Looks like you guys made the most of what you got. :) Wish we had a good hill to make use of in our yard. Cute pics of you and Julia btw.
