Farm Tour!!

Saturday we were treated to a tour of the farm by Uncle Hans. It was a highlight of the time there, especially for the boys!
Some of the grain bins.
It was freezing outside, but this big tractor and it's large implement were in the shop much to the boys excitement.

 Dreamin' away! :)
 A Gator cruise. (pretend)
 More dreamin'
Marcus on the "heavy duty" trike.

The shop with it's obstacle course of machines and equipment was so much fun.
They bounced back and forth from riding the trike and bike n pedal tractor to sitting in the real stuff pretending.
All 4 in the cab of a semi that was also in the shop for repair.
 This is the soybean planter,
Uncle Hans filled them in on the way it worked and they loved it.
The gator was a favorite too as it dumped and was closer to their size.
Inspite of the fact that it was freezing outside, they convinced Uncle Hans to take them for a ride in the gator. The boys that is, us girlies stayed in the cozy shop and watched out the windows. :)
Tractors of all shapes and sizes.

But next up was the BIGGEST tractor on the farm (at least according to Marcus)
It started up, inspite of the cold, and they all squished in the cab for a ride

At least you can hear the engine and such, I wanted to do one from the inside but they are all too big to load. This one is short and sweet because my camera battery died. :)

They could almost all fit in it's big wheel!
Fido the farm dog came to say "Hi" while we were out in the cold, storage shed.
Machines, Machines, Machines! The boys loved it all.
We visited several other sheds and saw the combines, and lots of other attachments. Uncle Hans patiently explained their purpose to us and answered 101 questions from the kids.
A big sprayer and some tiling pipe.
After we finished the fun but chilly tour, we came back home to a cozy house, and Ethan,

and Jadon,
who had stayed home in this coziness with Gramma Jo and Aunt Susie.
Aaron is our "reader" tho' I think they may just be laughing about pictures here.
Speaking of the cozy house, I loved Sus's decor in this bathroom.
And the guest room we called ours for the week!
 and the kitchen
This happens to be with dishes and all though she had it spotless before we arrived. Very warm colors and with the cold snowy weather outdoors it was a place we spent a lot of time between meal prep, meals enjoyed and meals cleaned up... :) I love cooking and cleaning up so it was all part of the fun times!!

  1. It's obvious that Hans takes great care of his farm equipment. I like the farmhouse kitchen with the table right in the middle. :-)

  2. Yes, they do take good care of things. It's a joint farm with other family members. ~ SJo
